Give Yourself a 30 Day Challenge

Feel like your stuck in a rut? Try implementing a 30 day challenge. Turns out that 30 days is just the right amount of time to add a (good) habit or subtract a (bad) one.

Watch Cutts' talk here and then go ahead and write that novel, practise yoga, floss your teeth, or commit to any other challenge, big or small, for the next month!

If the Skirt Fits

There's a new study out that has found a woman who wears a skirt suit tends to stand out more than her  female counterpart wearing a pants suit. In Why skirts are good for your careerRenee Sylvestre-Williams reports on the findings, and speaks to Human Resources expert Sarah Paul who comments that a woman "wearing a skirt and dressing in an overtly feminine way elicits personality characteristics more often demonstrated by women... support, empathy, sensitivity... which are all desirable traits of a leader in today's workplace."

So, the next time you're shopping for a new work ensemble, consider adding a stylish skirt and suit combo to your professional wardrobe.

True Colours

Summer may have come and gone, but it doesn't mean we have to get rid of bright and bold colours completely. The CND PrimariesBicycle Yellow, Relay Red and Anchor Blue—are three colours we've been using to dress up our nails this fall. We especially love wearing these vibrant shades with neutral-coloured clothing so that our nails can be in the spotlight. Adding this splash of colour to our toned-down look definitely gets us in the mood for a fun-filled autumn!

$11.30 each (.33 fl oz); To find a retailer near you, go to cnd.com/Locate/Find-A-Store.aspx

The Key to Work Productivity

So it seems the key to productivity is not so difficult to achieve. In How to get more time off without losing productivity by Harvey Schachter (originally published in The Globe and Mail), we read about a formula for success as prescribed by Dan Sullivan, who operates The Strategic Coach, a consultancy business for entrepreneurs. Sullivan advises his clients to divide their work lives into "focus days, when they focus solely on the activities that bring in the money; free days, when they do nothing business-related and just rejuvenate; and buffer days, when they deal with the rest of business life." A simple plan that gets us working smarter, not harder? Sign us up!
