In March 2011,  Ric Elias shared his experience of being on the January 15th, 2009 US Airways Flight 1549, the plane that successfully ditched in the Hudson River in New York. Take five minutes out of your day to watch this inspiring video:

Check out this inspiring video of American writer, editor, and publisher Dave Eggers acccepting his 2008 TED Prize. Eggers talks about how his 826 Valencia writing center inspired others to open their own volunteer-driven, creative writing labs. He urges the TED community to do what they can to engage with local public schools in both a personal and creative manner. Best of all, he reminds us that the simple act of asking a teacher "How can I help?" is all it takes to make a difference.
